All about the Stratemeyer Syndicate

Hardy Boys fans, Nancy Drew fans, mystery readers, I've got a program for you! I've put together an entertaining, informative and amusing story of the Stratemeyer Syndicate, the brains and creative drive behind the Bobbsey Twins, Tom Swift, The Happy Hollisters, The Rover Boys, The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew and over 130 other juvenile series. Edward Stratemeyer outlined and edited over 1,400 books and was the James Patterson of his day.

The story of Edward Stratemeyer is fascinating, with a lot of insight into the father of modern juvenile fiction. My Stuff series revolves around two 24 year-old boys living in South Florida. They are lifelong friends who find themselves in dangerous situations. The Stuff series has been praised for its thriller/comic genre, but what struck me as the best reviews were the ones that compared the two as "Grown up Hardy Boys." (The Booklist comparison to the narrative style of Mark Twain's Huck Finn wasn't bad either).

I put the presentation together because I was a Hardy Boy Fan, and I had Frank and Joe Hardy in mind when I wrote the books. Now, I'd like to share the Stratemeyer story with you and your group. Sisters In Crime, library groups, book clubs, bookstores, or anyone who grew up reading the Stratemeyer books will enjoy the story and the history of this fabled syndicate.

If you are interested in this multimedia presentation, please contact me. Compensation depends on location, expenses, and the opportunity to also sell my books. You can reach me at don@donbrunsbooks.com or 419-236-9215. Please explore my website to learn more about my books, and check out this three minute video talking about the "Grown Up Hardy Boys:"

I look forward to speaking with you and I promise you a good time will be had by all!
